5 signs your website is pushing customers away

The silent problems that make visitors leave without getting in touch, and how to test your site in 30 seconds.

Most sites don’t lose customers for one obvious reason. They lose them slowly, in details nobody notices, that quietly make people close the tab. Here are five of the most common.

1. It takes more than 3 seconds to load

Half of visitors give up before the site even opens. On mobile, where most traffic comes from, it’s worse. Heavy images and too many plugins are almost always the cause.

2. It’s hard to use on a phone

Buttons too small for a thumb, tiny text, menus that won’t open. If the site was designed for desktop and only squeezed onto mobile afterwards, it shows, and it pushes people away.

3. There’s no clear next step

The visitor likes what they see, and then what? If there’s no obvious button to book, request a quote or get in touch, they leave. A good site always guides toward the next action.

4. Google doesn’t understand the site

Without proper titles, descriptions and structure, Google can’t show your site to the people searching for it. A lot of great work stays invisible just because of this.

Work photos loaded as backgrounds, with no alt text, don’t appear in Google Images and aren’t read by screen readers. It’s traffic lost without ever noticing.
