Why a good video is worth more than a thousand words

What sets a video that goes unnoticed apart from one that sticks, and how that applies to your business.

A well-edited video isn’t just cuts and music. It’s rhythm, emotion and clarity, all at the service of one message. In this first article, we share what we’ve learned editing dozens of projects, from YouTube to brand campaigns.

The first second decides everything

On social media, you have less than two seconds to grab someone who’s scrolling. The first shot, the first sound, the first movement: it all counts. A good editor thinks about this before thinking about the aesthetics.

Less is more

The most common mistake is cramming the video. Every cut has to earn its place. If a shot doesn’t add anything, it goes.

Sound is half the picture

No one notices good sound design, but everyone feels bad sound. Music, ambience and effects guide the emotion without the viewer even realising.
